Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rain in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces this afternoon and tonight.

Currently, the monsoon system is influencing most parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the eastern region of Lumbini province. The rest of the country is experiencing a partial influence of local and westerly winds.

Presently, the weather is generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurring in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Later this afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as other parts of the country. Heavy rain is also possible at one or two locations within these provinces.

Tonight, the weather will stay partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some places across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
